Boilers can fail in a lot of different ways, from a fault code on the display to a boiler that fires up but will not produce hot water. Our Gas Safe registered engineers repair boilers across Cheam and Sutton, working on most major brands.
Because a boiler is a gas appliance, diagnosing and repairing a fault correctly matters, both for safety and to make sure the actual cause is fixed rather than a symptom papered over. An engineer will check the fault code if there is one, test relevant components, and explain what they find before carrying out a repair.
If your boiler is old and repairs are becoming frequent, it is worth discussing whether continued repair still makes sense, though we will always try a repair first rather than jumping straight to suggesting replacement.
Common boiler faults we repair
- Fault codes and lockouts
- Loss of hot water or heating
- Pilot light or ignition failures
- Faulty pumps, valves and diverter valves
- Leaking internal components
- Boiler pressure dropping repeatedly
How we diagnose a boiler fault
An engineer will check the fault code or lockout condition shown on the boiler, test relevant sensors and components, and check the wider system for issues like low pressure or airlocks that can present as a boiler fault even when the boiler itself is not at fault.
What you can check before calling
Note down any fault code shown, check the boiler pressure gauge is within the normal range, and check that the boiler has power and the timer or programmer is calling for heat, since a simple settings issue can sometimes look like a fault.
How charging works
Boiler repairs are charged by time at our standard hourly rate, with a one hour minimum and 30 minute increments after that, plus parts. See /our-rates for current rates. If a boiler needs replacing rather than repairing, we can point you to WDI Group's boiler quotation service.
